A black shield-shaped embroidered item with a semi-circular base edged with a 1/8 inch (.32cm) black border, 2 1/4 inches (5.72cm) in height and 1 7/8 inches (4.76cm) in width overall; bearing a white band from upper left to lower right fimbriated scarlet to right and blue to left. The beret flash was approved on 25 Jan 1990.

A black oval-shaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (.32cm) black border, 1 3/8 inches (3.49cm) in height and 2 1/4 inches (5.72cm) in width overall, bearing a white 3/16 inch (.48cm) diagonal band from upper left to lower right fimbriated scarlet to right and blue to left. The background trimming was approved on 25 Jan 1990.
